The approximate centre of the old Al claims are southwest of the Opal Lake prospect (104J 001), 97 kilometres north of the community of Telegraph Creek. The location description is referred to as "similar nickeliferous rocks in a parallel fault zone 3.5 kilometres southwest of the Opal Lake occurrence".

Small amounts of millerite occur with chalcedony in sheared upper Mississippian-Permian serpentinite of the Cache Creek Complex.
